Contracts exchange on 44-unit residential site in Longhope

20th Dec 2022

SevenHomes, the regional housebuilder by SevenCapital Group, has exchanged contracts to acquire a seven acre residential site in Longhope, Gloucestershire, with plans to introduce 44 new homes to the area.

Situated on land off Church Road, the proposed development will deliver a mix of purpose built two, three and four bedroom family homes, 40% of which are earmarked as affordable properties.

50% of the seven-acre proposed development site will be allocated as green open space, intrinsically designed in keeping with its enviable semi-rural surroundings.

Ideally positioned within the highly desirable Forest of Dean, Longhope is an attractive village with a thriving local community. Benefitting from good transport links to Cheltenham and Gloucester to the east, Newport and Cardiff to the south-west and Bristol to the south, the site also enjoys a wide range of local amenities on its doorstep.

For families, Hope Brook CofE Primary School is located 100 metres south of the site, connected via a public footpath to the proposed development site. Secondary education can be found in the nearby settlements of Mitcheldean and Gloucester, whilst higher education opportunities can be found at Hartpury, Gloucester and Cheltenham.

An outline planning application for the proposed development will be submitted to Forest of Dean District Council in 2023.

Abdul Ali, executive director and head of office for SevenHomes, said: “We are thrilled to have exchanged contracts for this development site. Its attractive semi-rural location combined with its ease of commuting and enviable local amenities means it is ideally positioned to meet the demands of modern living.

“With a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes, the proposed development will be well suited for a wide range of purchasers from first time buyers, young couples and growing families alike.

“We expect there to high demand from prospective buyers for this development and look forward to submitting a planning application next year.”
